Oct 30, 2003 — The Senate has overwhelmingly confirmed Utah Governor Mike Leavitt as head of the Environmental Protection Agency Wednesday. The 88-to-8 vote came a day after a small group of Democrats abandoned their delaying tactics, though not their criticism of the Bush administration's environmental policies.
