Habitat for Humanity in St. Lawrence County breaks ground today on a low-cost home in Rensselaer Falls. Thanks to a collaboration with a regional energy efficiency group, the home will use 30% less energy than a conventional one. Record Number of People using Homeless Shelters and Soup Kitchens

There have been a record number of people seeking help at homeless shelters and soup kitchens in New York throughout the winter. At one free breakfast program in downtown Albany, attendance has been growing. It reached an all time record high a few days before Easter. The churches who run the program aren't exactly sure why.
