Clarkson University is celebrating one of its senior faculty members this year. Egon Matijevic has taught chemistry for 50 years, and has no intention of stepping down. Born in what is now Croatia, Matijevic turns 85 this year and still logs thousands of miles lecturing around the world. He's in his office seven days a week, advising grad students and directing some of the most advanced research in his field - colloid and interface science. Todd Moe found that he's reluctant to focus on his numerous accolades, and prefers to talk about teaching in a small town and the joy of instilling a love of learning and culture in his students.  Go to full article
