Activists webcast Assembly meetings during Sunshine Week

Government reform activists took their smart phones into Assembly Committee meetings to live stream meetings that so far have not been available on line to the public.

To mark what's known as Sunshine Week, to promote a more open government, the activists took their smart phones into several Assembly Committee meetings, and using simple software, pressed record and streamed the proceedings live on the Internet.  Go to full article

Looks like a race in 114th Assembly district

Republican Dan Stec will have a Democratic challenger in the race for New York's new 114th Assembly District. Dennis Tarantino, a lawyer from Glens Falls, has been endorsed by Democratic committees from Warren, Washington, Saratoga and Essex counties. He is expected to formally announce his candidacy at a press conference next week. Chris Morris reports.  Go to full article

Tarantino will run in the 114th

There's going to be a competitive race for New York's 114th Assembly district. The Glen Falls Post-Star reports that Queensbury attorney Dennis Tarantino announced this week that he will accept the Democratic nomination.  Go to full article

Stec may have competition in the 114th Assembly race

It looks like Republican Dan Stec may have a challenger after all in the race to fill the Assembly seat being vacated by Teresa Sayward.

Stec, who serves currently as Queensbury town supervisor and chair of the Warren County board of supervisors, has been running unopposed in the 114th district.  Go to full article
