Saranac Lake, NY, Jun 21, 2011 — A groundbreaking ceremony was held Monday in Saranac Lake for the Adirondack Carousel. A project more than 10 years in the making, the carousel will feature more two-dozen hand-carved and hand-painted Adirondack animals.

The merry-go-round will be housed in a large pavillion designed to serve as a center for education programs as well as for birthday parties and other events.
