Pendragon Theatre Presents Kushner's Award-winning Angels in America

One of the productions at Pendragon Theatre in Saranac Lake this summer tackles some tough subjects: AIDS, religion, race, politics, power, corruption and family. Playwright Tony Kushner's Angels in America: Millennium Approaches is subtitled, "A Gay Fantasia on National Themes". It's set in the 80's, during the Reagan era. Pendragon Theater's 25th Anniversary

The Pendragon Theater in Saranac Lake is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The professional company travels to schools and local stages around the north country. Pendragon has grown into a regional showcase for musical theater, new plays and experimental work. Brian Mann sat down this week to talk with Pendragon's founders, Bob Pettee and Susan Neal. The couple first met in Long Lake in the early Seventies and moved to Saranac Lake from New York City. The professional company is now on tour with the Diary of Anne Frank. Pendragon expects to present the play to more than seven thousand students across the north country.  Go to full article
