Canton, NY, Sep 30, 2010 — NCPR is media sponsor for the 9th annual Remington Arts Festival in downtown Canton. The event begins Friday night and continues throughout Saturday with a focus on Frederic Remington, art, history and culture. It includes an art sale on the village green, 5K run, music, children's games and horse-drawn carriage tours of the village with stops at significant historical landmarks from Remington's life. Canton, NY, Sep 25, 2009 — NCPR is media sponsor for the 8th annual Remington Arts Festival in Canton this weekend. The event celebrates local art and pays tribute to native son Frederic Remington. Special exhibits and events around the village will include a juried art show in the park, quilt display, games for kids, historic tours and music. Todd Moe talks with David Katz of the Northern Lights Orchestra. Nov 01, 2005 — The works of 14 artists from across the region are on display at the Frederic Remington Museum in Ogdensburg. The 2005 International Juried Art Exhibit includes paintings, drawings, photographs and sculptures. Todd Moe talks with Remington curator Laura Foster and Canton artist and printmaker Roger Bailey about the show. Bailey culled through 178 images from 63 artists. Aug 26, 2005 — The Frederic Remington Art Museum celebrates the life and art of Sally James Farnham, Ogdensburg's other prominent sculptor. Tomorrow during a daylong tribute, the museum will host a book release party for the recently published book, Sally James Farnham: The Art of Being an Artist. The Museum and the local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, will be co-hosting a Centennial Celebration to honor the 100th anniversary of the dedication of Ogdensburg's Civil War monument. It could require everyone to show a valid passport to enter the U.S. The possibility shocked tourism officials along the St. Lawrence River.
