Oct 08, 2013 — SARANAC, N.Y. (AP) The state Department of Environmental Conservation has opened some new fishing spots, campsites and other access opportunities in the Sable Highlands conservation easement lands at the northern edge of the Adirondacks.
The easement lands include more than 28,000 acres distributed over 14 public use areas in Franklin and Clinton counties. This is former Domtar Industries land near Lyon Mountain. The state purchased a conservation easement on 84,000 acres sold by Domtar to Chateaugay Woodlands. Go to full article
