Motorboat Restrictions Draw Hot Debate

A proposal to limit motorboats on waters near Saranac Lake sparked a heated debate last night. The meeting was held by the state Department of Environmental Conservation to discuss a new management plan for the Saranac Lakes Wild Forest. The US and Canadian National Amputee Hockey teams to play exhibition game at the Winter Paralympics on March 16th. State Nursing Home Grant Could Be Mixed Blessing

New York Health Commissioner Antonia Novello visited Saranac Lake Friday, to announce a $700,000 grant for the Adirondack Medical Center. The money is part of a statewide effort to close a shortage in healthcare workers at hospitals and nursing homes. But a spokesman for one of the North Country's largest nursing homes says the grant program could actually cost them money. Brian Mann explains.  Go to full article
