Missing woman's body found near Inlet
Mar 31, 2011 — Forest rangers in the Adirondacks have found the body of a Central New York woman who went missing last Friday. 44-year-old Kerry Young was found near the town of Inlet yesterday, following a two-day search that involved helicopters and more than fifty people. Search expands for Saranac lake man
Saranac Lake, NY, Jan 06, 2011 — Authorities are tracking down a handful of leads as the search continues for a missing Saranac Lake man. Gary Sklaryk hasn't been seen or heard from since early Sunday morning.
Sklaryk is six feet tall and weighs 120 pounds. He has brown eyes, brown hair, a beard and mustache, and was last seen wearing a blue and gray plaid hooded sweatshirt, gray corduroy pants and black slippers
Anyone with information about Sklaryk's whereabouts is asked to contact the Saranac Lake Police Department at 518-891-4422.

Search for Saranac Lake man scaled back
Lake Placid, NY, Nov 29, 2010 — State officials say the search for Wesley Wamsganz is being scaled back this week after more than nine days of intensive effort.
Wamsganz, who is 22 years old, was last seen on November 20th in the Adirondack High Peaks. His Carhart jacket was found on a trail near Marcy Dam. But crews of volunteers, tracking dogs, and a state police helicopter found no additional sign of Wamsganz.
In the days since, temperatures in the mountains have plunged into the single digits, with high winds, freezing rain and snow. Last night, Forest Ranger Capt. John Streif met with the Wamsganz family. He informed them that the large-scale effort to find their son was being suspended.
A short time later, Captain Streif spoke by telephone with Brian Mann from the Adirondack Loj, which was the headquarters for the search. Go to full article

Thanksgiving search turns up no new clues
Lake Placid, NY, Nov 26, 2010 — Roughly thirty searchers spent another disappointing day in the High Peaks yesterday, trying to find 22-year-old Wesley Wamsganz.
The Saranac Lake man disappeared on Saturday and was last spotted by witnesses near a trailhead at the Adirondack Loj.

Police, Forest Rangers find body of missing Lake Clear woman
Rochester, NY, Aug 26, 2010 — An Adirondack woman missing since the weekend was found dead yesterday after an intensive search north of Saranac Lake. The missing men of the "Indian Lake triangle"
Nov 07, 2008 — The vast forests and river valleys around Indian Lake in Hamilton County offer some of the wildest and most beautiful country in the Adirondacks. But that sparsely-settled region can also be dangerous. Since 2006, three men have disappeared near Indian Lake. The most recent vanished this fall. Some officials have taken to calling the area the "Indian Lake Triangle." As Jacob Resneck reports, forest rangers charged with patrolling the area downplay the idea of any mystery. Search continues for missing hiker in Adirondacks
Oct 20, 2008 — Forest rangers and volunteers are expected to continue their search today for 71-year-old man missing for more than a week in the Central Adirondacks. Frederick Gillingham of California, who has a camp in Indian Lake, has been missing since Sunday, October 12. State Curtails Search Near Indian Lake
May 04, 2006 — After more than a week, DEC officials say they're phasing out a search for a man believed missing in the Indian Lake area. George LaForest was last seen on April 21st.
