Corrections Officers Get Delay in Transfers

There is going to be a delay in the forced reassignment of 245 corrections officers until the state's 2004-2005 budget is passed. Governor Pataki recently announced that a declining prison population in New York is causing the closure of three facilities and downsizing at six others. Governor Pataki announced last week that a declining prison population in New York is causing the closure of three facilities and downsizing at six others. Now, with help from Senator Jim Wright, corrections officers being transferred are getting some financial aid from the state.
