Supervisors fall in Essex County

Off-season elections like the one held yesterday can often be snoozers, but Tuesday's vote brought a cascade of upsets and close calls in the Adirondacks. North Elba supervisor candidates debate

Voters in the Lake Placid area will choose one of two veterans of local politics when they cast ballots for North Elba Supervisor on Tuesday. Republican Shirley Seney, a 12-year incumbent is being challenged by Independent Robi Politi, a former town board member and former mayor of Lake Placid.
