Prescott, ON, Oct 25, 2012 — Canadian actor Greg Kramer has been getting rave reviews for his performance in the one-man show, The Player's Advice to Shakespeare. It'll be performed Friday and Saturday night in Prescott, Ontario, presented by the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival. It's been nominated for two Capital Critics Circle awards -- Best Actor and Best Director -- for the best in theatre on stages in the Ottawa area.

Kramer plays one of Shakespeare's actors, imprisoned in the Tower of London, who has some advice for the Bard. But he'd better hurry, because he's been handed a death sentence. Jul 20, 2012 — The Adirondack Shakespeare Company is back for their third annual Summer Festival Season in the region. But don't expect lavish costumes or sets. The company prides itself in presenting Shakespeare "in the raw", without the need for traditional sets and props.

Prescott, ON, Jul 11, 2012 — The St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival is celebrating its tenth summer season in Prescott, Ontario. The Kinsman amphitheater, along the waterfront, is home to the Festival. A decade ago, a small group of actors brought a production of Romeo and Juliet to Prescott, and it proved to be a success. It's now the largest outdoor professional Shakespeare festival in Ontario, attracts some of the best talent and features two plays as well as an educational program for aspiring actors.

Canton, NY, Oct 27, 2011 — The American Shakespeare Center on Tour troupe is at St. Lawrence University this week. The group, based in Virginia, performs Shakespeare with the house lights on, shattering the "fourth wall" between actors and audience.

Prescott, ON, Jul 16, 2010 — A new comedy, written by an Ontario playwright, is part of the lineup at the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival this summer -- outdoor theater along the river. John Lazarus wrote Trouble on Dibble Street. It was commissioned by the festival to help celebrate Prescott's bicentennial this year. Now in its eighth season, the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival is presenting Trouble on Dibble Street and Macbeth as its two mainstage shows.
