Spreading the Word on Burn Barrel Hazards

If you shop at a P&C supermarket, you may have noticed a new message on the plastic bags there. It says, "Please Don't Burn This Bag." The message is a part of an aggressive education campaign originating in St. Lawrence County to cut down on the common practice of burning garbage. The evidence that the practice threatens human health and clean air and water is growing. It's illegal in cities and villages. States Set Up Appliance Disposal Programs
