Preview: "The Event" in North Creek

The Our Town Theatre Group in North Creek has invited back a guest director to perform a one-man show this weekend. Bob Paisley, from Kansas City, takes center stage in "The Event" at Tannery Pond Community Center on Saturday night (7:30). It's a one-night-only performance and fundraiser for the theater group. OTTG fall production features original plays

This weekend, the Our Town Theatre Group will present its fall production, the premiere of Tales from the Second Circle Motel: An evening of Original Plays. It opens at the Tannery Pond Community Center in North Creek on Friday night (7:30). The production will feature thematically connected scenes by five local playwrights. Director Stephen Svoboda says the Second Circle Motel is the playwrights' metaphor for purgatory.  Go to full article

Preview: comic plays in North Creek

Our Town Theatre Group opens its fall production Friday night at 7:30 at the Tannery Pond Community Center in North Creek. They'll present five short plays under the title, "Something to Laugh About". Filomena Riviello, who teaches theater arts at Adirondack Community College, directs the production. She told Todd Moe that she and the cast of eleven actors chose the five plays from a collection called, "Laugh Lines".  Go to full article

Preview: Violin Sonatas Saturday Night in North Creek

Adirondack Ensemble presents the second concert on its Concerts and Conversations Chamber Music Series at Tannery Pond Community Center in downtown North Creek. Hungarian pianist Aniko Szokody and violinist Michael Dabrosky will perform violin sonatas by Mayer, Mendelssohn, Haydn and Franck. The concert is 7:30 Saturday night. Todd Moe talks with Adirondack Ensemble President and Executive Director Mark Bergman, who says the goals of this winter/spring concert series are to make chamber music, classical and jazz styles, accessible, engaging and fun.  Go to full article
