Commentary: Tax Cuts and Hope

In Washington, lawmakers continue to wrangle over President Bush's proposed $726 billion in tax cuts. The senate voted to support half that amount as the country is at war and faces a record-setting deficit. Many Democrats have said cuts will disproportionately benefit the rich.
