Jun 04, 2002 — Ground was broken and tilled late last month for a new community garden in the village of Gouverneur. It's not the first or the only community garden in the North Country, but it's one that will be managed by young people and youth groups. Organizers say it will be a reliable source of fresh vegetables for area families and food pantries, as well as a powerful means to bring people together. Feb 01, 2002 — Five years ago, with help from a federal grant, the North Country Consortium began installing new computers and Internet access in more than a dozen schools and libraries in Jefferson and Lewis counties. This year, the Consortium received the final portion of the million-dollar grant.
