(12/10/10) Award-winning musicians Peggy Lynn and Dan Duggan will host a Holiday concert on Saturday, December 18th at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. This will mark their tenth annual family Holiday show and will include other local musicians and some surprises. Todd Moe talks with Dan and Peggy about their new cd, Be the Light, which includes original and traditional songs and tunes for the Christmas and winter season.

(12/08/10) Folk balladeer Lee Knight joined Todd Moe in the studio this morning to share
some favorite Christmas music with roots in Appalachia. Knight, who grew up in Saranac Lake, lives in North Carolina and has dedicated his career to preserving traditional music in the Adirondacks and the Appalachians. He became familiar with the cultures of both regions in college and learned the stories and music from traditional sources -- the people who had them as part of their community for generations.

(10/01/10) Adirondack folk singer Celia Evans celebrated a CD release party on-air during the Eight O'Clock Hour this morning. Her third cd is an album of simple folk melodies, both traditional and contemporary, and a few folk rock tunes, too. She told Todd Moe that Hardwood includes music that celebrates gratitude, family, love and observations over the past few years.

(06/22/10) Jake Shimabukuro has reinvented the ukulele and earned a following worldwide. His version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" made him one of the first "Youtube" legends. Jake and his ukulele will be on stage at Lake Placid Center for the Arts Friday (8 pm). He told Todd Moe that his mother handed him his first ukulele when he was four years old, and it was love at first strum.

(06/09/10) Sisters Gretchen and Rebecca Koehler, and Don Woodcock are out with a new album of old time fiddle tunes. They all grew up in musical families surrounded by the rich traditions of North American fiddle music. Their new cd is called, The Fiddlers Three, and we'll listen again to their conversation with Barb Heller, host of String Fever.

(01/27/10) Flutist and piper Chris Norman and violinist David Greenberg performed music from Scotland and Cape Breton live on The Eight O'Clock Hour while visiting St. Lawrence Univeristy for a 3-day residency.
