Saranac Lake, NY, Mar 14, 2011 — Residents of the North Country have been trying to stay in touch with family and friends in Japan following that country's deadly earthquake and tsunami on Friday.

They've been making phone calls, sending emails and using Facebook and Skype to get updates from their loved ones.
