Its still in the early stages, but college and area fire officials are putting their heads together to find out if a Fire Protection Technology program is viable on the JCC campus. Feb 13, 2001 — Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton made a pair of appearances in upstate New York yesterday to outline her economic development plan and to reinforce her campaign commitments to revitalize the upstate economy. Senator Clinton spoke at events in Rome and at Jefferson Community College in Watertown, where she pledged to promote the North Country as a great place for businesses to locate and expand. Youth Court: Teens Judge Teens in Real Life
Jan 12, 2001 — Usually we think of peer pressure as a negative--urging young people to make fun of the short kid in class or to try that first cigarette. But in a growing phenomenon around the country, courts are using peer influence to keep teens on a positive track through life. Youth Courts have teens judging their peers in real cases with enforceable sentences. Youth Courts also reduce the heavy caseload--and costs--of higher courts that deal with more serious crimes.
