Plattsburgh forums focus on refugees
Jan 30, 2007 — Millions of people in the world live as refugees and internally displaced persons, uprooted from their homes by war and persecution. A pair of forums Thursday will examine the plight of women and children refugees worldwide. One of the featured speakers, Wendy Young, grew up in Saranac Lake and is Coordinator of U.S. Government and External Relations for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees. She told Todd Moe that her office works with refugees in over 100 counties, and as a liaison between Congress, the State Department and the United Nations. Go to full article
