(Jul 9, 2010) The Adirondack Park Agency has approved a major expansion to a sludge landfill operated by International Paper in Ticonderoga.
IP land deal consumated

(Apr 3, 2007) In another major development, state officials announced yesterday that they have completed an agreement to protect almost 260,000 acres of timberland in the Adirondacks. The $24 million deal involving the former International Paper land was first negotiated in 2004. But it was blocked for three years by local governments, including Colton, Parishville and Piercefield in St. Lawrence County. Martha Foley talks with Adirondack bureau chief Brian Mann about this deal.
VT Gov Joins IP Protest In Ticonderoga

(Nov 10, 2005) Hundreds of New Yorkers and Vermonters turned out last night for a public hearing in Ticonderoga. They came to debate International Paper's plan to use recycled car tires as fuel at the company's mill in Ticonderoga. IP hopes to conduct a 2-week test burn to determine whether the cheaper fuel adds significant amounts of pollution to the air and water. The plan would save the company millions of dollars a year. But critics on the Vermont side of the lake say the proposed test is flawed and won't provide needed information. As Brian Mann reports, one of the protestors at last night's hearing was Vermont Governor Jim Douglas.
(Aug 18, 2005) Vermont’s Natural Resources agency will hold a public meeting tonight in Rutland to discuss plans to use old tires as fuel at the IP mill in Ticonderoga. International Paper hopes to save two million dollars a year with the alternative fuel. But as Brian Mann reports, opposition to the project in Vermont remains fierce.
(Jul 21, 2005) A historic deal to block development on more than a quarter-million acres of International Paper land in the Adirondacks remains in limbo. The conservation plan endorsed by Governor Pataki is caught up in a feud with local governments. It has also being complicated by IP’s plan, announced this week, to sell off millions of acres of timberland worldwide. Brian Mann has details.
(Apr 2, 2004) International Paper was delisted yesterday from the Dow Jones Industrial Average—an index of the country’s top industrial stocks. The company operates a mill in Ticonderoga and owns 280,000 acres of timberland in the Adirondacks. The news sent IP’s stock downward on Thursday. As Brian Mann reports, Kodak was also delisted. Both companies sought to play down the change.
