Stalking a celebrated spring staple

(May 20, 2008) This year, NCPR is celebrating its 40th anniversary and food in the North Country. As part of "Local Flavor", our occasional series on growing, cooking and eating locally, Todd Moe heads into the woods near Canton in search of wild leeks. It's planting season in many backyards, but not all local food is cultivated. Sometimes it's nice to reap delicacies from nature's garden.

(Mar 1, 2007) The Welsh are celebrating St. David's Day today, in one way or another. St. David, or Dewi Sant, as he's known in the Welsh language, is the patron saint of Wales. Todd Moe talks with Hefina Phillips, president of the Ontario Welsh Festival, about St. David and next month's festival in Kingston. She says David was a sixth century Celtic bishop who spread Christianity among the pagan tribes of western Britain.
