<title>Preview: Plattsburgh recital features rare horn</title>

<description><![CDATA[ (Feb 2, 2011) A rare brass instrument will be a part of a concert at SUNY Plattsburgh Friday night.  SUNY Plattsburgh’s Ann Ellsworth and her guests will take the stage for a faculty recital that will feature music by Mozart, Wagenseil, Eberlin and others.  Ellsworth owns one of only eight soprano horns in the world.  It&apos;s a rare instrument made by German horn maker Alexander Mainz.  She told Todd Moe that it was designed specifically for playing the extremely high register found in certain Bach cantatas. <description><![CDATA[ (Nov 18, 2010) SUNY-Plattsburgh is celebrating its annual International Education Week. Activities include lectures, music, films, literature and food.  The week culminates with the &quot;Night of Nations&quot; event on Saturday night.   Evan Mills, International Student Advisor at SUNY Plattsburgh, tells Todd Moe that the events help foreign students share their cultures with the local community. It&apos;s also part of Plattsburgh&apos;s long tradition as an international gateway for trade, immigrants, visitors and ideas.  Mills says the school has a large international student body. <description><![CDATA[ (Dec 30, 2009) The Book and Blanket Players’ production of the romantic comedy, She Loves Me opens New Year&apos;s Eve in Jay and continues this weekend in Keene Valley.   She Loves Me is the tale of a couple who feud in real life, but unknowingly become pen pals and fall in love.   Jack Cassidy won a Tony for Best Actor in the original 1964 Broadway version.  The North Country production features a talented community theater cast and SUNY Plattsburgh students.  Todd Moe spoke with two of the local cast members about the show. The Democratic and Republican candidates, Bill Owens and Dede Scozzafava, participated. Conservative candidate Doug Hoffman declined. NCPR&apos;s Brian Mann and Lindsey Lyons, president of the Student Association were co-moderators.
