Handgun Safety & Pistol Permit Training

New 8-hour training by a National Rifle Association Certified Instructor - Learn important information about permit requirements and your legal responsibilities in owning a handgun. Topics to be covered are related to New York State Penal Law, General Safety Topics, and Firearms Proficiency using Jefferson’s Advanced Interactive Systems (AIS) Firearms Simulator. This is the same simulator used in the criminal justice degree program. Jefferson Community College Policy prohibits all weapons on campus. Handgun safety and pistol permit training will be held the first and third Saturday of every month at Jefferson Community College. Maximum attendance is 16 (sixteen) - to register call continuing Education at 315-786-2438. Registration is required. Walk-ins are unacceptable. Please bring photo identification to training.
