5k walk/run 8am, Family Events, draft horse rides 12-3pm, cider making, crafts, pumpkin painting, food, live music by Rustic Riders at 1pm and Jack Kellys Little Big Band at 3pm. [$2 adults/$1 kids adm.]

Tom Langen, Professor at Clarkson University known for his work with road crossings for reptiles and amphibians, will lead a walk at the Nature Center’s wetlands, taking a look at their ecological significance and their place in the larger landscape.

Annual fall rummage sale,bake sale & boutique: Oct. 4th, 8am-4pm, Oct. 5th, 9am-3pm and Oct 6th from 9am-12pm. A bag sale will held on all 3 days for clothing. New this year the boutique room with jewelry and attic treasures.

Takes place at the Outdoor track by the sports complex. Entry Fee: $5. Includes Children’s Activities and Raffle, and all proceeds benefit the Make a Wish kids in St. Lawrence County.

Join Northern NY Audubon for a short walk to the farm complex on the Santanoni Preserve, home to the Santanoni Lodge, built from 1892-93. There are some old buildings, fields and orchards to explore followed by a visit to the gatehouse and its museum

PUMPKIN PAINTING FOR CHILDREN, OCTOBER 6 AT BRANT LAKE

The Friends of Horicon Public Library will have a Pumpkin Painting event for children on Saturday, October 6, at 12:30pm after the Duck Race at the Quack of Noon. This Halloween program will be held outside in the Pavillion behind the Horicon Town Hall, (or in the Community Room of Horicon Town Hall in the event of rain). Hot Dogs and refreshments will be served, the event is free, and open to the public. So we'll have the pumpkins and the paint.........you bring your creative ideas for a fun afternoon. No registration necessary.

Discussion about how wildlife behaves in autumn, leaf peeping, and more. Bring your cameras and creativity, as the group will be making leaf field guides. Prepare for a hike out on our trails at each session! Please call or email to register.

Ogdensburg will be celebrating Oktoberfest this year. There will be a beer garden, bands, traditional food, kids' games and fireworks at dusk!

All are welcome to join The Bookstore Plus in welcoming the authors of "Adirondack Mysteries & Other Mountain Tales" to Lake Placid. Several of the authors of Volume 2 will be on hand to sign copies of the new volume.

The Art Center hosts the Mohawk Valley Astronomical Society (MVAS) as they present “Telescope 101” at the Center at 6:30. If you do not need to learn, meet the group at the BYAA Park, on State Route 12, at 8pm for “Star Gazing” with the MVAS.
