North Country Community Calendar

Friends of Ogdensburg Public Library Corp. will hold its Fall Book Sale Nov. 1-3, with Bag Sale on Nov. 10th. Friends is also holding a Silent Auction, featuring holiday gifts, original works of art and treats donated by local merchants and individuals.

Doors will open at 5 PM Thursday, Nov. 1. Current Friends members will receive half-off from 6-8 PM Thursday. Silent Auction items will be available for bidding the week of the sale, with winners contacted after 2 PM on Saturday, Nov. 3rd.

A holiday gift market featuring beautiful hand-made gifts and crafts from around the world. All proceeds benefit local and world mission. The sale will be held in the church's Great Hall.

St. Hubert Church will have their annual bazaar featuring live wreaths, floral arrangements, handcrafted items and several gift baskets. Lunch will be served from 11am to 1pm.

Celebrate with games in the Community Room. This free event is open to all ages.

Participants will hike a 2 mile loop around the shore of Arbutus Lake in the Huntington Wildlife Forest. This flat trail goes through mostly softwood and mixed wood forest, where there is the possibility of seeing Red and White-winged Crossbills.

Open to youths 6-18 and adults. Entry fee includes lunch: $12 youth $15 adults. Five 1 Km loops with 4 shooting bouts (8-10 meters); shorter flatter course available. Waiver (on website) must be signed by parent for those 18 or under.

Over 80 vendor displays (inside & out), and inside the Fire Hall hot doughnuts, chili, macaroni-tomato-hamburder soup, cabbage & noodles, BBQ on a bun, and hot dogs. There will be homemade fudge, fried dough, and baked goods, too!

SUNY Plattsburgh Field House. Featuring pottery, woodworking, quilting, watercolors, oil painting, photography, toys, jewelry, stained glass and more by at least 140 vendors from all over New York and Vermont. Admission: $3. Children under 13 free.

November 1st is National Author’s Day. In honor of local authors, join us for a day filled with book signings and meeting your favorite writer. A perfect way to connect with them and to hear what inspired them to write their books.

ALL ARE WELCOME! The Lunch is held EVERY Saturday. Donations are NOT expected but will be accepted. Please, come and enjoy good food and conversation.

Board games, card games, traditional games will be played. Learn a new game or play an old favorite. Choose from the Library's collection or bring a game to share. No registration required, but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Music, silent auction, raffle, plus a spaghetti dinner from 4pm until all are served. David has been battling renal kidney cancer for 5 years and is still fighting.

Spice Up Your Winter with the Long Lake Public Library! Crafts, cooking classes, displays, and more. First workshop is making a Spice Mandala!

Models for the calendar will be present to autograph your 2013 Calendar. Calendar cost $15. Refreshments provided by fund recipients. All proceeds go to 6 NON-PROFIT venues which serve our community.

Entertainment by Barbie & the Golden Notes, raffle, and flu vaccine shots available, too. The dinner supports Community Link Mobile Health. (Dinner: $7 adults, $4 children under 12)
