Cold slows floods, but some areas still underwater

WATERBURY, Vt. (AP) Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin says damage from recent flooding has been wide-ranging and warns that Lake Champlain is nearing flood stage.

About 45 roads were closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Officials say a bridge also washed out in Johnson.

The National Weather Service also says widespread flooding will occur along the Passumpsic River in Lyndonville and St. Johnsbury Center.  Go to full article
