Farmer?s Almanac predicts a ?wintery? winter

The Farmers' Almanac is out with its forecast for the next year. Pete Geiger is the publication's editor. Jonathan Brown asked him about the centuries-old method the Almanac uses to predict the weather - and for the forecast itself.  Go to full article

Water levels a concern along Seaway

Boaters and businesses along the St. Lawrence River and Lake Ontario are suffering through lower-than-normal water levels this summer. Earlier this month, freighters on the St. Lawrence were cautioned to go slow because of low water. The low water is expected to prompt high turnout at a summit meeting called by the International Water Levels Coalition at the Clayton Opera House Saturday morning. Chuck Quirmbach has more.  Go to full article

Storm topples trees, power lines and tractor trailer

Authorities say the northbound lanes of I-87 were closed shortly before 5 pm after strong winds toppled the tractor trailer. No injuries or deaths were reported in connection with the storm. Donnie Dumont is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Burlington.  Go to full article
