Is Meta going MAGA? Zuckerberg ends DEI, fact-checking programs

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said his company is ending diversity, equity and inclusion programs and disbanding its DEI team because “the term … has become charged, in part because it is understood by some as a practice that suggests preferential treatment of some groups over others.”

Last week, Meta also announced it will end its fact-checking program as part of a policy shift embracing “free expression” and bring more political content back to its platform Facebook.
